One of the comments from Friday’s post was about bringing viagra or whatever your erectile dysfunction drug of choice is. I am happy to report you can! Legally that is too!

Per CPB

If a U.S. resident wants to bring in a controlled substance (other than narcotics such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, or LSD) but does not have a prescription for the substance issued by a U.S.-licensed practitioner (e.g., physician, dentist, etc.) who is registered with, and authorized by, the Drug Enforcement Administration to prescribe the medication, the individual may not import more than 50 dosage units of the medication into the United States.

That is coming from the Customs and Border Protection website. I am not making it up and I can tell you from my own experience it works.

Declare

The trick to bringing back your viagra is just declaring it. When I crossed back in from Mexico the nice man asked me if I needed to declare anything. I said yes, I had 16 generic viagra tablets with me. He asked if that was all I had. Yes sir it is. Scanned my card and told me to have a nice day.

Mongers are so used to flying under the radar that we assume everything do is legally or morally ambiguous. Turns out normal people also bring back medicine all the time too.

Who cares if you bring back a load of viagra. Keep it 50 and under and just declare it when you cross in.

Worth A Read

Reading the Customs and Border Protection website might not be considered a fun read, it’s informative. You can learn a lot of do’s and don’t by take the time to read the info for travelers.

There is a lot of things we think we can “smuggle in” that all we have to do is legally declare it. That fake purse you bought for someone. The high-end watch that says Rolex but runs Timex. Maybe an Armani suit.

I am betting most of you didn’t realize you can bring that back. Legally! All you have to do is declare it.

So take the time to read.

Viagra Incoming

Next time you are at your favorite destination and want to load up on viagra go for it. There is nothing stopping you.

When you return to the United States and are filling out your customs form just declare it on the form. You are legally within your rights. So don’t be paranoid and try to sneak it in. If you get pulled for secondary you are legally within your rights.

No more need to “smuggle it” into the country.
